BEWILDERED CANADA GEESE

Feb 14, 2016

I took this photo of Canada Geese last week as they vainly searched for something to eat. Migrating Canada Geese usually begin arriving in central Saskatchewan in mid March when there is still snow  and nest shortly after. Generally .there is water in the ponds and open fields to feed in by mid April.

This winter started in mid October and has proceeded with almost record breaking snowfall and without the unusal mid-winter thaw that takes the snow off roofs and roads. Cold temperatures haven't let up either and are still much below normal. The forecast for today suggests a high that may break aboe the freezing mark.
