Hi my name is Carl Barber. I became the owner of Tiger Hills Outfitting Ltd in 2004 when I retired from a career in concrete construction. I grew up on a small mixed farm here in Saskatchewan, part of a traditional hunting family. My wife Sandra and I have spent more than thirty years living and hunting where Tiger Hills Oufitting Ltd. is licensed to operate. I have environmental science education and am an advocate of habitat conservation for wildlife.

The mission of Tiger Hills Outfitting Ltd. is to provide our guests with excellent hunting experiences, private lodging, and great home style meals all wrapped up in friendly hospitality. I share this task with my wife who plans the menus and does most of the cooking, my main scout Jack, my son Chris when he can, and other help as required.

We are located an easy hour and a half drive north-east of the Saskatoon International Airport, and about six hours drive north-north-west from the border crossing of Portal, North Dakota. Our hunting area just south of the boreal forest fringe ensures that our guests have the benefit of hunting birds fresh from the northern forest and Tundra. Our land location is within the boreal transition zone so the large fields of barley, peas, wheat, canola, alfalfa, and pasture are dotted or edged with wetlands and areas wooded with aspen and willow.

These wetlands include the duck factory potholes that Saskatchewan is famous for, small and large marshes including several DU marshes, lakes of various sizes, and the South Saskatchewan River. These wetlands host nesting waterfowl such as mallard, pintail, gadwall, widgeon, teal, and other duck species as well as populations of Canada Geese. Our diversified ecology also permits observation of white-tailed and mule deer, elk, moose, coyote, fox, beaver, muskrat, occasionally timber wolves, and numerous other species of wildlife.
